Psychologists explain that when we read our minds are distracted, and that distraction eases the tension in our muscles and the heart, reducing stress levels by as much as 68%

So the next time you really need to calm down, pick up a good book and start reading. The study claims that as little as six to ten minutes can start to ease your stress.
